Balbuena, Eduardo

Professor and Researcher of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
He specializes in innovation and knowledge transfer processes, as well as business strategy and economic development. He is also a technical advisor to entities such as CERCA, La Caixa, I2CAT or the Government of Catalonia.

His professional experience includes 12 years as a researcher in Health Chemistry and Biomedicine, at the University of London, the CSIC, the IDIBELL and Harlan Laboratories, and professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona (UB).

For 15 years, he has been engaged in the management and evaluation of R+D+I, among others, as project manager and innovation manager at the UB, the Vall d’Hebron Hospital and the Secretariat of Universities and Research of the Government of Catalonia. Director of innovation at the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation.
He is also a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business of Pompeu Fabra University.

Bachelor’s and Doctorate in Chemistry (Medical Physiopathology) from the University of Barcelona, also has a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Management and an Advanced Business Management Program from IESE.
