Director since 2014 of the Women and Science Unit (UMyC) in the Cabinet of the Secretariat of State of Universities Research, Development and Innovation, Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
Professor of Social Psychology at the University of La Laguna (ULL) and member of the University Institute of Women’s Studies of this university, she was the first Director of the Gender Equality Unit of the ULL (2010-2014). She is the spanish delegate to the Permanent Working Group on Gender in Research and Innovation (formerly the Helsinki Group) advising the Committee for the European Research Area (ERAC) at the Council of the European Union. In addition, she is a member of the European Platform of Women Scientists (EPWS) and the Spanish Association of Women Researchers and Technologists (AMIT). He has actively participated in the ERA-Net GENDER-NET network 2013-2016 and also currently in three Horizon 2020 projects: two coordination and support actions on gender policy and science, GENDERACTION 2017-2021 and SUPERA 2018-2022, in addition to the ERA-Net Cofund GENDER-NET Plus 2017-2022.
