Director of the Group of Cell Neurobiology and Systems Biology program in the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona. Expert in Gender Politics.
She is a worldwide expert in the field of neurobiology and pharmacology and her contributions have been published in more than 150 international journals. She is also a member of the editorial committee of various scientific journals. She is the president of the Trisomy 21 Research Society, chaired the Spanish Neuroscience Society (SENC) as well as the International Behavioral of Neural Genetics Society and she was a member of the Executive Committee of the European Federation of Neuroscience Societies (FENS). She exercises as an evaluator of different scientific committees such as the National Evaluation Agency, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness or in panels of experts of the European Union.
PhD in Medicine (1985), she obtained her PhD in neurobiology from the University of Cantabria in 1989.
